*The Ritz Carlton Buckhead (Atlanta) was the location for press day as I had the opportunity to interview Anthony Mackie one-on-one and discuss his role as Sam Wilson/The Falcon in the upcoming Marvel Comics film, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

Upon meeting Mr. Mackie, I instantly realized he is the type of guy that makes one feel at ease and relaxed with his sense of humor. Mackie is humble in spirit and was genuinely a delight to speak with.

Without giving too much away in talking about his character’s roles in advance of the film coming out, Mackie did elaborate on the personality traits of Sam Wilson versus The Falcon; his physical preparation for the role and love of donning special wings; and his knowledge base of the Marvel comic character of The Falcon prior to taking on the role.

Oh, and by the way, to show you personable he is, we left in the opening of our convo where he’s messin’ with yours truly. He challenged me to come up with questions that no one else did. He thought he got me, but I got him.  :)  Watch.

Later that evening, cinema “influencers” and press were treated to a red carpet advanced screening of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” with many Atlanta celebrities being present at the event.

The movie is sure to please fans of all ages and especially anyone who is a Marvel Comics enthusiast.  Full of action, adventure, and stellar special effects combined with the ever present theme of “saving the world.”

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” also stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Redford, and Samuel L. Jackson.  It opens in theaters nationwide on April 4. (Photos by Madge Evans.)
