*With critically acclaimed portrayals of Jackie Robinson and James Brown, Chadwick Boseman has mastered the art of becoming real life legends.

Now, the actor will transition into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the title role in Marvel’s Studio’s upcoming “Black Panther” move.

News of Boseman’s casting was made on Tuesday by the studio during a special presentation at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

With the role, Boseman will be Marvel’s first solo lead of color. The entertainer, who is best known for his work in “42” and “Get On Up,” will play T’Challa, the head of the fictional African nation of Wakanda, in the movie. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Black Panther is known by comic book fans as a long-serving member of the Avengers who has been featured in multiple critically acclaimed solo runs throughout his 48-year history.

The “Black Panther” movie was one of several new titles announced by Marvel at the event. Although no other information was revealed about “Black Panther,’ Marvel did reveal concept art for Boseman’s character which was shared on Twitter by Marvel’s Ryan Penagos.

The Reporter notes that moviegoers will see T’Challa before his solo film when he makes his debut in 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War.” The “Black Panther movie is scheduled to hit theaters Nov. 3, 2017.
