A St. Louis woman and mother of two, Lakechia Schonta Stanley, was sentenced almost 80 years behind bars for physically abusing her two daughters, who were 8 and 10 at the time.

Prosecutors convinced a jury to convict Schonta Stanley because they were able to prove she brutalized her children with “systematic torture.” The horrendous abuse included beating them with a baseball bat, ripping out electrical cords and using them to flog her preteens, waterboarding, and manhandling the girls under freezing hot and cold showers.

At her sentencing, Schonta Stanley was described as “psychotic” and confessed to the inhumane acts on her children last Friday. She was charged with 34 felony counts of abuse, assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Incredibly, when the librarian touched the girl’s arm, she found that it was cold and unresponsive. The child was taken to the ER, where doctors said that the beating was so severe that the blood had clotted and constricted to the limb.

If you’re wondering where was the children’s father, according to Examiner.com, Alexander Rui Stanley (pictured above), 30, also pleaded guilty to joining his wife in the horrific abuse, and was sentenced last year to 42 felony counts of abuse. He received 160 years.
