The attack happened at around 12:43 a.m. on the 11 bus line near East 40th Street and Community College Avenue in Cleveland.

The attacker boarded the bus behind two other people who were paying a fare, according to William Nix, the president of the Amalgamated Transit Union, which represents RTA drivers.

The suspect then began swinging a sock with a brick inside of it, hitting the driver all over her body.

The driver then fled with six other people who were with him.

Nix said no one responded when the driver pushed the priority button inside the bus. He said the driver used her personal cell phone to call for help.
