Protesters in Xenia will gather every week in the black male victims until police officers are indicted.
BEAVERCREEK, Ohio — The family of a man killed at a Beavercreek Walmart store in a police-involved shooting is expected to file a lawsuit Tuesday.
The Journal-News reported that the family of 22-year-old John Crawford III is filing the lawsuit against multiple parties they claim are responsible for his death.
The family said they intend to sue Beavercreek police officers Sean Williams — the officer who shot Crawford — and his partner, Sgt. David Darkow, Beavercreek Police Chief Dennis Evers and the Wal-Mart Corp.
Crawford was shot and killed Aug. 5 inside the Beavercreek Walmart. He was carrying a BB gun he picked up inside the store at the time of the shooting. A woman who was shopping at the store at the time died from cardiac arrest during the incident.
