CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – The Cleveland Cavaliers completed a three-team trade on Monday with the Oklahoma City Thunder and New York Knicks.

The Cavs sent guard Dion Waiters to the Thunder, and sent Lou Amundson, and Alex Kirk and their own 2019 second round pick to the Knicks.

In return the Cavaliers received guards Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith from the Knicks and a protected 2015 first round pick from the Thunder.

So who are these guys? J.R. Smith is an 11-year veteran, he came into the league straight out of High School and was drafted by the New Orleans Hornets in 2004. Smith’s longest stint with a team came in 2006 when he was traded to the Denver Nuggets, he spent five years in Denver and averaged 13.68 points a game for them.

Iman Shumpert is in his fourth season, he was drafted in the first round by the Knicks in 2011. Shumpert brings size at the guard position and stellar defense that the Cavs desperately need. Coming out of High School he was rated No. 15 among nation’s senior players by Scout.com and No.26 by Rivals.com.
