Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee is taking aim at President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and Beyoncé.

In an interview with People magazine, Huckabee accused the first couple of parenting by double-standard while pointing out how the Obamas allow their daughters to listen to Beyoncé as they shelter them from certain things.

“I don’t understand how on one hand they can be such doting parents and so careful about the intake of everything — how much broccoli they eat and where they go to school … and yet they don’t see anything that might not be suitable” in the lyrics and a Beyoncé choreography “best left for the privacy of her bedroom,” Huckabee stated in the interview, which was published Tuesday.

Huckabee’s chat with People comes as he promotes his new book, “God, Guns, Grits and Gravy.” Beyoncé’s name is brought up in the book as Huckabee describes the singer as “mental poison.”

When asked to comment on Huckabee’s comments, the Associated Press noted that the first lady’s office declined.

Huckabee has resurfaced on the public radar after recently stepping down as host of a weekend program at Fox News. The politician, who ran for president in 2008 and considered running in 2012, is currently weighing whether to seek the GOP nomination in 2016.
