Radio: ESPN Radio

Top Storylines:

Which teams will get No. 1 seeds?

Kentucky will be the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament. Duke, Villanova and Virginia are the leading candidates for the other No. 1 seeds, with Wisconsin, Kansas and Arizona having outside shots to sneak into the final slot.

Does it matter? Yes and no. Being a No. 1 seed guarantees that a team won’t have to face Kentucky until the Final Four, but the matchups are much more important.

Which teams will have their bubbles burst?

It will be a sad day for two mid-major teams that had great regular seasons — Iona and Murray State — but failed to win their conference tournaments. There are a host of big-name schools that will be sweating out the show, including Texas, Miami, UCLA and Indiana.

Oh, and if you’re watching to see where Syracuse ends up, you’ll be waiting a long time. The school is sitting out as part of a self-imposed ban, a decision it reached before the NCAA issues a damning report about violations in the program.

Which teams will get a bad draw (i.e., end up in Kentucky’s region)?

If Kentucky is the overall No. 1 seed, then teams like Wisconsin and Gonzaga should beware of ending up in the Midwest Region. Kentucky is likely to play its first two games in its home state, and even if it is technically in enemy territory in Louisville, you can bet that Wildcat fans will turn the arena blue.
