ROSWELL, Ga.- A 17-year-old Georgia boy who received a heart transplant was killed after a day-long crime spree.
In 2013, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta rejected Anthony Stokes, of Decatur, from the transplant list because of his lengthy juvenile record.
“So I can get a second chance, get a second chance and do things that I want to do,”Stokes told WSB-TV two years ago. He was given less than six months to live because of his enlarged heart, but eventually, he received the transplant.
Roswell police said Stokes stole a car from a mall and then shot at a woman during a burglary attempt on Tuesday.
