A California native was arrested last week after he assaulted his wife for posting selfies on Instagram, the New York Daily News reports.
The incident happened on Wednesday at the couple’s home in Fresno. Julio Benitiez reportedly demanded that his wife delete photos from the social media app, the site writes. He then choked and punched the mother of three.
The victim fled the home with her 5 and 7-year-old children and called the police. Her two-year-old was later removed from the home after Benitiez tried to take him.
The mother also suffered injuries to her neck, legs, and arms.
Police found Benitiez and the child nearby hours after the assault and charged him with domestic violence and making criminal threats.
Officials believe Benitiez was reportedly on drugs when the attack happened.
