RICHLAND COUNTY, OH (WOIO) –

A Richland County family is safe after a terrifying ordeal.

According to police, a man called 911 and stated his family was being held at gunpoint while he was being forced to drive to a bank and get some money.

In a 911 call, the man said he was a branch manager at KeyBank on Lex-Springmill Road in Ontario, Ohio.

He said the suspect was already at his house when he got home from work Thursday at 3 p.m. The suspect held the entire family hostage all night and ordered the man to get the money from the bank early Friday.

The employee said he went to the bank, gathered some money as directed and returned home.

He said he gave the suspect between $100,000 – $200,000 and he released his family.
