Today we will celebrate the life of Maurice White, founder of the legendary band Earth, Wind & Fire, in a way that would be fitting of him: by way of music.

Earth, Wind & Fire, one of the greatest brass sections to ever set foot on a stage, mixed with the unique sounds of Maurice White’s Kalimba has made them incomparable.


Maurice White will go down in history as a singer/songwriter/musician/producer/arranger/innovator, of 21 studio albums, that has been nominated for over 20 Grammys, bringing home 7. Inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as the Song Writers Hall of Fame and NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame. He owned his own record label Kilimba Records named after one of the instruments he was known to play. Father in music to legendary trio The Emotions and creator of Boogie Wonderland. He was also the music bed to several movies such as Coming To America and Undercover Brother to name a couple.

Brother/Husband/Father/Mentor, the world may never know another man of such multifasted greatness.
