PLATTSBURGH, New York — A little boy’s poem is so powerful, it has inspired those who’ve read it, and it’s also brought people to tears.

Benjamin Giroux, 10, has Asperger syndrome.

His family told TODAY that the students in Benjamin’s fifth-grade class in Plattsburgh, New York, were asked to write a poem about themselves to celebrate National Poetry Month. They said Benjamin couldn’t wait to start writing it.

His mom says he was given the first two words in every sentence. His dad posted the poem on Facebook and it caught the attention of the National Autism Association, who posted it on their page.
