Agent Drew Rosenhaus officially dropped troubled former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel on Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported, minutes after news surfaced that Manziel’s assault case would go before a Texas grand jury.
Schefter reported on Tuesday that Rosenhaus, who last week said he was going to drop Manziel unless the quarterback entered a treatment facility and took “immediate steps” to straighten out his life, had formally terminated the business relationship with Manziel.
This is the first time Rosenhaus has fired a client, according to ESPN. He represented Manziel for less than a month.
The Dallas County District Attorney’s office announced on Tuesday that a grand jury would hear the assault case on Thursday.
