Washington University reports that a person was injured in a shooting near its Mallinckrodt Center. The victim suffered what are believed to be non life threatening injuries and has been transported to a hospital for treatment.
Wash. U first tweeted about an alert about a person with a weapon on campus just after 1:30 p.m. The university told students and staff to take shelter where they felt safe until notified otherwise. The lockdown has been lifted and everyone has been notified to resume activities.
The Clayton Police Department is working alongside university police to investigate the shooting.
