Kelly Price Blasted For Signing As We Lay IBE Sets The RecordStraight

Indianapolis is breaking the internet since Kelly Price’s viral video after her performance on the entertainment stage at IBE Summer Celebration. In her video Kelly express her displeasure in being told her performance of “As We Lay” was inappropriate. After posting her video rants, the entire situation came to head all over social with various posts, comments and videos.

Here is the thing. Kelly’s time was pushed back from earlier in the day to during the Gospel portion of Summer Celebration. She wasn’t originally scheduled to appearing during the gospel show. She performed her set which included a performance of “As We Lay.”

IBE has respectfully released a statement apologizing to Kelly for the miss communication. They explained that Price’s performance was supposed to take place before the Gospel Explosion, and a scheduling mix up had occurred. Kelly was asked by Rico Love to attend IBE for his Music Conference during Summer Celebration.

Gospel singer Tasha Page Lockhart and producer Rico Love both came to Kelly’s Defense.

For everyone bashing my sister @mskellyprice for performing "As We Lay" at a Gospel concert, you should know that she had NO clue that it was the gospel portion of the show. She was asked by ME to come and be apart of my #WeLoveMusicConference. And she sent in her show tape ahead of time so everyone knew what she was going to perform . By mistake performance time was pushed back and instead of her closing the earlier show it looked as if she was the opening performer of the gospel portion. But the bigger issue here is the judgmental spirit that has existed in the church for far too long. I saw some of the things that ppl were commenting under her post and it was disgusting. These ppl did NOT KNOW THE FACTS but had no problem spewing those disgusting words to her "in the name of the church". We need to re-evaluate who we are and who's we are! I want to publicly apologize to Kelly for this confusion and I pray that we can become better when it comes to dealing with each-other ESPECIALLY when we have NO CLUE WHAT WE ARE SPEAKING ABOUT. I'm grateful to @inblackexpoinc for being such class acts about the situation . They stand behind Kelly and so do I . #TTLO

@mskellyprice love you lady #churchgirl #Pk She's famous for that music and that's what she was hired to sing. How can you blame her for what she had no knowledge of. Some of y'all so quick to be mean and judgemental and you're sitting at home clocking in to another man's business. Don't let jealousy cause you to say mean self righteous things. Just work on your craft so that you can start getting those calls. Oh what about all the churches that did a Prince tribute in their churches after he passed? That was ok but what she did wasn't?
