The 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro is currently underway, and airing on NBC and all of its related channels and affiliates. Those stations can have easy access to showcasing highlights for news programs and online. Affiliates of other networks have a tougher time when it comes to showing video as they are not allowed to do so or show much of the action.
Many media outlets have to get creative outside of NBC when it comes to covering the sporting events. One television station in Cleveland to its creativity to the next level. WJW Fox 8 decided to use Sharpie drawings to showcase highlights. The results are in the video below.
