SAN ANTONIO (WBTV) –

A mattress store in Texas is closed ‘indefinitely’ after a “Twin Towers Sale” commercial went viral online. The sale, at Miracle Mattress in San Antonio, centers around the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

“Right now, you can get any size mattress for a twin price,” the sales woman says in the ad.

The end of the ad shows the woman knocking over two men – who each knock down a tower of mattresses behind them.

“Oh no, oh no,” she screams in the video before turning to the camera. “Never Forget.”

The company posted an apology Thursday after it came under fire from people online. Friday afternoon, the store said it was closed indefinitely.

“We will be silent through the 9/11 Anniversary to avoid any further distractions from a day of recognition and remembrance for the victims and their families,” Miracle Mattress officials wrote. “We take full responsibility for our actions and sincerely regret the hurt and pain caused by this disrespectful advertising campaign.”

The store is expected to issue a public statement next week “highlighting accountability actions taken within the company.” They also plan to offer support for the 9/11 Memorial and victims’ funds.

“There is very little we can do to take away the hurt we have caused, but we can begin with silence through the Anniversary and then do our best to follow up with actions that reflect the seriousness of our mistake,” owner Mike Bonanno wrote.
