ASHLAND, Ohio– Ashland Chief of Police David Marcelli confirmed at a press conference Tuesday afternoon that on Tuesday morning around 6:40 a.m., a woman escaped from the home in question. Upon their arrival at the home, police discovered the remains of two other people.
A suspect in the Tuesday abduction is in custody and being questioned. Marcelli didn’t provide details about the bodies.
Later on Tuesday, officials told the Fox 8 I TEAM that remains of a body found in Richland County could also be connected to this case. Officials say the suspect alerted them to the location of that body.
Ashland County coroner Dale Thomae was called to the scene, but will be unable to begin identifying the bodies until crime scene units are finished. He did not know the gender of the victims.
