CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

Uber will launch its food delivery service UberEATS in Cleveland on Wednesday.

UberEATS is an app designed to make requesting food delivery as easy as possible. Customers will be able to order from a number of restaurants during their regular hours, including the Greenhouse Tavern, Lago East Bank, Trentina and Fahrenheit.

Uber is also looking to recruit 1,000 Cleveland residents by the end of the year to drive with their ride service, with the company noting that UberEATS “opens up new economic opportunities for driver-partners” by giving them an additional way to earn cash.

“It’s great to see a company like Uber continuing to invest in Cleveland,” said Marsha Mockabee, Urban League of Greater Cleveland President and CEO, in a release. “Not only will Uber deliver Cleveland’s best food to anyone who is hungry, but they’ll recruit over 1,000 drivers in the process who will now have access to another way of earning money.”

UberEATS is available for download on iOS and Android.
