20th Century Fox and DeVon Franklin’s entertainment company, Franklin Entertainment, are teaming up to bring a new faith-based film to the big screen.

The Impossible, a yet-to-be-released book providing the foundation for the forthcoming film script, is based on the true story of a man who was brought back to life by the power of prayer.

According to a Deadline report, Franklin, Miracles From Heaven producer, preemptively acquired The Impossible book proposal by Joyce Smith that tells the uplifting true story of John Smith.

At age 14, Smith drowned in Lake St. Louis and was dead for almost a full hour. According to verified reports, CPR was performed 27 minutes with no results. That’s when the seemingly dead youth’s mother, Joyce Smith, came into the room, praying loudly. Suddenly and remarkably, there was a pulse and life returned to Smith’s body.

The Impossible marks the first project Fox and Franklin Entertainment are collaborating on since the Christian minister and Hollywood executive moved his deal there.
