In DeVon Franklin’s next book, the minister and film producer is sharing spiritual insight that he didn’t learn in church — but in Hollywood.
Franklin took to social media to reveal the synopsis of his upcoming book, The Hollywood Commandments: A Spiritual Guide to Secular Success.
“Just finished a photoshoot for the next book: THE HOLLYWOOD COMMANDMENTS — can’t wait for you all to read this one!! It’s The 10 laws for your success that I learned in Hollywood that they don’t teach in the church,” he wrote on Instagram. “Yeah, I’m going all the way in on this one, your destiny has been held captive too long, it’s time to break free and be everything God created you to be! More updates soon!!!”
While there are not many additional details about the book, the website of publisher Harper Collins reveals it will be released in October under Religion, Self-Help and Business & Economics categories. The minister and producer, who is married to Christian actress Meagan Good, is no stranger to Hollywood with production credits for films like “Heaven Is for Real,” “The Karate Kid” and “The Pursuit of Happyness” under his belt.
“The more I started embracing the ministry side, the more it actually added to my career in Hollywood,” Franklin told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year. “Knowing what challenges people are facing and then working on movies that can address those real-life issues gave me a path in this business.”
