AKRON, Ohio – Akron police executed search warrants Thursday afternoon in connection with a fatal fire that killed seven people earlier this week.
Authorities searched two homes on Hillcrest Street, just around the corner from the house that was destroyed Monday, according to Akron police.
News 5 saw investigators carrying boxes from the homes.

Crews responded to the corner of Hite and Fultz streets the day after Mother’s Day where they found a home engulfed in flames.
The fire claimed the lives of seven people — two adults and five children.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office said that all seven victims died from smoke inhalation.
