CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Metroparks Edgewater beach house officially opened Friday.
The new two-story building replaces the old concession stands and bathrooms that were built back in the 1980s.
The beach house is part of $4 million in renovations at Edgewater Park, which also includes walking access to the park from the nearby neighborhoods.
This summer marks the centennial for the metroparks. And they’re taking steps to keep up with the times.
Those changes are most visible at the beach house but the metroparks isn’t done. Other projects are planned around the area.
“I think that things have changed for the positive, we have really grown and acquired new land, we keep the parks really clean, but we also stay true to our roots,” Cleveland Metroparks retail manager Kate Johnson told News 5.
