COLUMBUS – Ohio State men’s basketball coach Thad Matta is stepping down, the university announced Monday.
The search for the next coach will begin immediately, Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith said in a news conference.
Matta has compiled a 439-154 career record as a coach for Ohio State, Butler and Xavier universities. His 337 wins with the Buckeyes makes him the program’s all-time winningest coach.
