Anthony Anderson said he once cut short his family vacation in Mexico to play a round of golf with Barack Obama in a last minute situation. And for his troubles, he lost $300 to the former POTUS in a bet

Regaling “The Tonight Show” audience with the tale on Thursday (Aug 10), the “Black-ish” star said he was on vacation in Cabo with his family when his friend, NBA star Chris Paul, called and invited the actor to join him in a round of golf with Obama and Michael Phelps the following day.

Anderson told Paul he wouldn’t be able to make it since he was south of the border with his family. But Anderson’s wife and kids said he would be a fool not to accept the invitation, and practically pushed him onto a plane back to the states.

“Long story short, it was the most expensive round of golf I’ve ever had to play in my life,” Anderson admitted.

He told host Jimmy Fallon: “It was cool. President Obama talked trash all day … and took all of our money. He took $700 from Phelps, he took $600 from Chris Paul, and he took $300 from me.”

Anderson said he even asked Obama, “Can you take money from civilians?” The former president responded: “’I’m a civilian now. So yes, I can take it.’”

Anderson did commend Obama’s golf skills, saying his shots were as straight as an arrow and he only played with one ball the entire time.
