CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

The Cleveland Police Homicide Unit is investigating a double stabbing that left one woman dead and put a man in the hospital.

According to Cleveland Police, officers responded to the 3600 block of East 103rd Street at 1:15 a.m. Thursday after a fight at a Fourth of July barbecue spun out of control.

Police say a man in his 20s stabbed and killed an 18-year-old woman and cut the right side of a 38-year-old man.

The suspect then robbed the woman and fled.

Members of the homicide unit and Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and cordoned off the crime scene.

The suspect remains on the loose, and police are actively looking for him.
