LORAIN, Ohio – The Richland County Sheriff and Lorain police have confirmed to Fox 8 that the suspect in an early morning abduction of a 10-month-old baby is being pursued on foot in the area of 2112 Lucas Road in Mansfield.
Robert Beane, Sr. was driving a stolen car after abducting his son. Law enforcement officials chased that car into Mansfield, where Beane crashed the car. He took the child and ran. He is considered armed and dangerous, residents are being urged to secure themselves in place.
The Amber Alert was issued after the 10-month-old baby was taken by his non-custodial father from a residence on Central Avenue in Lorain.
Robert Beane, Sr., 27, is accused of taking his son after pistol-whipping the baby’s mother around 5:30 Wednesday morning.
