CLEVELAND, Ohio – Case Western Reserve University said it is now allowing students to choose their gender identity.
The university said it is updating the software to its Student Information Service and giving students the chance to self-identify as a gender other than the one assigned at birth.
“Activating this feature aligns with Case Western Reserve’s commitment to an inclusive culture, in that it demonstrates the university’s respect for students for whom having this choice matters a great deal to their identity and sense of self,” a university spokesperson said.
