Ever since Jeannie Mai announced her divorce from her husband of 10-years, Freddy Harteis, she has said they are still amicable towards each other and there will always be love there. Now it seems that their divorce proceedings have taken an ugly turn.
During a visit to Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club with her fellow The Real hosts, Loni Love, Tamera Mowry-Housely and Adrienne Houghton, she opened up about the other factors that are causing their divorce to not go as smoothly as she hoped it would.
“It turned when, I would say, when money got involved and ego,” she said. “This is where you learn how things change. People say money changes people. So does ego and so does social media. And so does the press. I think that all of that mixed in between — you really gotta keep yourself grounded.”
She also spoke about the emotional affects of going through a tough divorce.
“I think it sucks. It’s terrible,” Mai she said on “The Breakfast Club. “You wake up with a rock in your heart and you feel like you can’t really make it through the day because it’s just so heavy. Especially when finances get involved. Especially when people change.”
Back in May, Harteis announced that he is expecting his first child with his girlfriend Linsey Toole.
Mai and Harteis’ differing views over having children is one of the issues that ended their marriage.
