Detroit Area Walloped With Over A Foot Of Snow From Latest Winter Storm

CLEVELAND– As Northeast Ohio prepares for the year’s first major snowfall, cities are issuing snow parking bans.

Akron: Snow emergency parking ban for main streets when 2 inches or more of snow falls and there is potential accumulation, and residential streets when 5 inches or more falls.

Avon: Parking ban in effect on Saturday at noon until all plowing operations are complete.

Barberton: Snow parking ban in effect Saturday January 19 at 11 a.m. until further notice.  The city also says residents should remove all basketball stanchions and other obstructions located in the right-of-way that could prevent snowplows from properly clearing the street.

Bay Village: Parking ban automatically takes effect when 2 inches of snow falls during a 24-hour period.

Canton: Parking ban from 12:01 a.m. Saturday until 12:01 p.m. Monday.

Canton Township: Snow parking ban in effect from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Monday.

Cuyahoga Falls: Citywide parking ban from 9 a.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Monday.

Fairview Park: Snow emergency when there’s 2 inches or more of accumulation.

Hudson: Parking ban from 10 a.m. Saturday through 5 p.m. Sunday.

Lawrence Township: Parking ban for all posted township streets, starting Thursday at 6 p.m.

Lorain: Citywide emergency snow ban goes into effect at midnight.

Maple Heights: Snow parking ban activated at noon on Saturday until canceled by the city.

Mogadore: Snow ban in effect from 7 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Munroe Falls: A Parking ban is in effect from 8 a.m. Saturday until 8 p.m. Sunday.

Newburgh Heights: No parking snow ban beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday until further notice.

North Olmsted: Parking ban in effect from 5 p.m. Friday until noon Monday.

Ravenna: Snow parking ban on all residential streets and the central business district from Saturday at 6 a.m. to Sunday at noon.

Sagamore Hills Township: Snow emergency from Saturday at 6 a.m. until Tuesday at midnight, or until further notice. No parking allowed on township streets during that time.

Seven Hills: A parking ban issued from 5 p.m. Friday until further notice.

Stow: Parking ban in effect from Saturday at 9 a.m. to Monday at 9 a.m. The ban prohibits cars from parking on city streets.
