CLEVELAND — A spokesperson for USPS said mail service in Northeast Ohio will be suspended after 2 p.m. Wednesday because of the weather.

This update comes after USPS said mail would be delivered in Cleveland on Wednesday.

Originally, USPS sent out an alert on Tuesday night saying they were going to halt mail delivery services in any zip code that began with 441 and 458.

On Wednesday morning, USPS said that mail would be delivered after all despite sub-zero temperatures across Northeast Ohio.

In a statement, USPS explained how weather conditions are impacting mail delivery:

We continue to monitor weather conditions as well as evaluate transportation availability. With any winter weather situation, we typically attempt delivery where we can while emphasizing safety to our employees. Employees are encouraged to contact their employee hotline for updated information since plant employees and carriers may have different reporting information.
