Indians great Kenny Lofton is back in Cleveland this week to promote his latest project in the field of movies.
Throughout his 17-year MLB career, the center-fielder brought a lot of excitement to the city but is now hoping to bring that same enthusiasm to the theaters.
This past weekend, Lofton launched a six-city theatrical roadshow to promote ‘Chokehold’, an MMA themed crime drama starring Casper Van Dien and Lochlyn Munro.
The eight-time producer stopped by WKYC on Monday and spoke with Jim Donovan about his latest movie release.
“It’s about a woman who is a fighter. It’s an underground Russian-type of league that she is coming back to avenge her father’s death. So, she’s fighting a certain style, her dad wanted her to fight a certain style, but she didn’t want to — so she left. Her dad ended up getting killed so she came back to avenge his death and had to go into the Russian’s underground fighting world to do that.”
Lofton, earning a film and TV and Film degree from University of Arizona, launched his own TV and film production company, FilmPool Inc. in 2004.
