WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — The City of Warrensville Heights says the New York Times is fake news.

The paper published an article Tuesday boasting that Robert Cornegy Jr., a Brooklyn city councilman, is the world’s tallest politician at 6-foot-10.

But at a staggering 7 feet tall, Warrensville Heights Mayor Bradley Sellers is the tallest politician in the world, according to June Scharf, the city’s director of communications. Sellers was a former power forward for the Chicago Bulls.

Scharf said the city has reached out to the Times to get the record corrected. The city was told they would have to go through the official certification process with the Guinness Book of World Records.

City officials weren’t aware this record existed, but now that they are, they would like to rectify it, and get Mayor Sellers on the book as the tallest politician in the world.
