Happy Birthday to singer/musician/writer/producer Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds.  Babyface the 11 time Grammy Award winner was born 60 years ago today in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Kenny Edmonds the creator of ‘Whip Appeal’, was given his nickname by the legendary funkster Boosty Collins because of his baby faced look.  Babyface made his breakout along side his partner in musical crime, L.A. Reid, with the hit R&B group “The Deele” singing lead on the hit slow jam “Two Occasions”.  After leaving the group to go solo, Babyface debuted his first solo studio album, ‘Lovers’  in 1986.  Babyface’s resume could be an encyclopedia as it would be safe to say if he had not touched any multitude of Grammy Award winning artist songs, they wouldn’t have even been nominated.  As of recent years one artist that came out of the Babyface stable, Toni Braxton with what could be regarded as a come back collaboration album, Love, Marriage & Divorce in 2014 earned them both a Grammy Award in the ‘Best R&B Album’ category in 2015.

Happy Birthday Babyface, we wish you many blessings and continued success, plus we all hope we look half as young as you do when we hit the big “60”.
