SOLON, OH (WOIO) – Solon police said officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 33000 block of Aurora Road to investigate a disturbance at 7:47 p.m. on Saturday.

Chagrin Valley Dispatch reported a caller was on the line screaming into the phone repeatedly yelling “shut up,” claiming they “were losing control,” according to police.

Upon arrival, officers met with the caller, 40-year-old Brandi Mitchell, and learned that her 22-year-old son had left the apartment, according to the report.

Police said Mitchell told officers she discovered dirty dishes in the sink when she returned home from work, which led to a verbal argument between the two.

Mitchell also told officers that she began throwing items around the apartment, but she never struck her son, police said.

According to police, Mitchell had some injuries, but they were caused by her actions.

Police said the son was found walking on Aurora Road and returned to the apartment.

The report stayed the son told police that his mother threw items at him, hit him and attempted to stab him with a steak knife.
