CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – Cleveland Police said officers were sent to the 10800 block of Parview Avenue for a 24-year-old woman shot at 3:41 a.m. on Friday.

Upon arrival, officers were reportedly flagged down by the victim and witnesses in the doorway of the victim’s home.

When multiple other officers also arrived on scene and insured that the suspect was no longer there, police immediately rendered first aid to the woman who had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, according to police.

Police said officers established a perimeter and searched the house to be sure there were no more wounded victims.

According to police, EMS arrived within minutes and transported the victim to University Hospitals.

The report showed the witness told officers they “were all chilling in the living room” when the suspect came over and barged through the door and made sexual advances toward the woman.

When the woman refused, the suspect responded with threats to kill her, according to police.

Police said the victim went to push him out the door when he pulled out a gun and fired a shot into the ceiling.

When the suspect backed out of the door and the victim shut it, he fired another shot through the door that stuck the victim in the chest, according to police.
