It’s been a few months since model Jordyn Woods‘ world was turned upside down, when news leaked that the 21-year-old was caught kissing basketball player Tristian Thompson, the baby father of Khloe Kardashian, her best friend Kylie Jenner’s sister.
The messy love quadrilateral led to public backlash from both the Kardashians and the family’s fans, leaving Woods isolated, shamed and bullied by strangers all over the world.
The terror even extended to her family. Woods broke down about how the Internet’s anger had real life implications for her loved ones.
“My little sister was bullied in school and I wanted to show her that I was bullied by the world,” Woods said during an interview during her recent visit to Lagos, Nigeria.
“I understood for the first time what it’s like being a black woman — in a just society, how we can be so disrespected and nobody can really understand to that extent until you have lived it,” Woods said in video clips obtained by The Daily Mail.
In the PR spin of a lifetime, Woods’ reputation was reclaimed, after actress Jada Pinkett Smith brought Jordyn Woods to her Facebook show, “The Red Table Talk” to clear the air. Pinkett, who has known Woods since she was a kid, gave the young model a big enough platform to combat the huge, hungry following of the Kardashian clan.
In the aftermath, it seems Woods is in the midst of a rebranding, as she continues to make public appearances and promote her businesses. TMZ cameras caught up with her recently and asked how she felt about being on “Red Table Talk.”
“Honestly, the whole world’s support is amazing.”
Adding, “I love Kylie always.”
At the time of the scandal, Khloe Kardashian had some choice words for Woods, who she once saw as a part of her “family.”
“This has been an awful week & I know everyone is sick of hearing about it all (as am I). I’m a rollercoaster of emotions & have said things I shouldn’t have,” she tweeted back in March. “Honestly, Tristan cheating on me & humiliating me, wasn’t such a shock as the first time.”
“What’s been harder & more painful is being hurt by someone so close to me,” she told her fans. “Someone whom I love & treat like a little sister. But Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault. I have to move on with my life & count my blessings, my family, my health, & my beautiful baby True.”
