CLEVELAND — Cleveland bars and restaurants may stay open and serve beer and liquor until 4 a.m. during MLB All-Star week, provided that they applied for a “major event” waiver permit before 11:59 p.m. Friday, May 3.

Under Ohio law, holders of certain Ohio liquor permits may apply for the major event waiver that would allow them to extend service time for beer or intoxicating liquor from 1 a.m. or 2:30 a.m. until 4 a.m. on the following day during a major event, according to a news release from the city.

The duration of the waiver would be from Friday, July 5 until Wednesday, July 10.

Business that wish to extend their beer and liquor service time must apply for a waiver by the end of the day on Friday. Only businesses with A-1, A-1-A, A-1-C, A-2 and D liquor permits may apply.
