Stop Domestic Violence

Discussion, Activism & Resources

The greater Cleveland area is in mourning. The time is now to raise awareness and get solutions to the domestic violence situation that’s plaguing society.

With the recent events surrounding domestic violence and the murder of Aisha Fraser, mother and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Men of the Divine Nine (Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma & Iota Phi Theta) have taken a proactive approach to confront the issue.

A panel discussion with Q&A has been organized to bring not only awareness to this issue, but also to provide education and resources that will benefit the community. The panel consists of individuals that bring a unique perspective to domestic violence and can offer a wealth of information. Panelists are: Hon. Judge C. Ellen Connally, Hon. Judge Michael Ryan, Min. John Twymon, Michelle Kenney, Nicky Miller, Carrie Joseph, Kathy Fellows & Lisa Husamadeen. The event will be moderated by Hon. Mayor Ben Holbert & Betty Halliburton.

American Sign Language as well as Spanish speaking interpreters will be available to ensure a broad range of attendees are able to receive the information.

The program will take place Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 6pm in the Cuyahoga Community College Metro Campus Theater located at 2900 Community College Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio.

This program is sponsored and supported by the Black American Council of Cuyahoga Community College.
