Joe Oliver appeared on MSNBC's The Last Word on Tuesday night to defend his friend, George Zimmerman, the 28-year-old neighborhood watch member who admitted to killing Trayvon Martin. And things got very intense. "I'm stepping forward for George because this was not a racial incident," Oliver said. "I'm stepping forward for George because of how it has it ignited all the racial tensions that we've had here for years. I understand everything that everyone is out there marching about because I've experienced it myself. And I wouldn't put myself on the line like this if I didn't know in my heart that George Zimmerman was in a life-or-death struggle."

Geraldo Rivera has issued a public apology for his explosive comments about Trayvon Martin's hoodie. Martin, an unarmed teenager, was shot dead by a self-appointed neighborhood watch volunteer in late February. His death and the controversial police handling of the case have sparked outrage across the country. Rivera added to the uproar on Friday when he said that Martin was partially responsible for his own death because he had been wearing a hoodie when he was killed. "I'll bet you money, if he didn't have that hoodie on, that nutty neighborhood watch guy wouldn't have responded in that violent and aggressive way," he said.

Geraldo Rivera provoked outrage on Friday when he said that slain teenager Trayvon Martin was partially responsible for his death because he was wearing a hoodie. The Fox News host later revealed that even his own son was dismayed by the comments. Speaking on Friday's "Fox and Friends," Rivera said, ""I think the hoodie is as much responsible for Trayvon Martin’s death as George Zimmerman was." Martin was unarmed when he was shot dead by a self-appointed neighborhood watch volunteer named George Zimmerman in late February. His death has become a national tragedy, fueled by the police's controversial handling of the case.
