LORAIN, Ohio – A Columbia Station man is facing charges in Lorain for menacing after entering his tennant’s home without permission.

Ivan Rak, 45, pleaded not guilty to a charge of menacing in Lorain Municipal Court Monday.

Lorain police arrested Rak after his tennant called Saturday morning to report he had packed up all of her clothing and told her she had to move out. According to police reports, all of the woman’s undergarments were missing.

Police reports also indicated Rak was sleeping in the nude on the woman’s couch when she returned from work last month.

The victim, who didn’t want her name published, says she has had several incidents with Rak since moving in in November.

“One time it was a bath that was run for me, another time it was a suitcase of his clothes he left and he kept calling and asking where should I put my clothes and I said at your house,” the woman said.

Rak pleaded not guilty to menacing, and he signed a protection order agreeing to stay away from the woman. He indicated that he didn’t know the woman was going to come home the night he was sleeping on her couch.

Lorain Police Sgt. Mark Carpentiere says a landlord can legally enter a tennant’s home in an emergency situation, but in these cases there was no emergency.

Rak will go before a judge again February 23.
