Noted state representative and school board president Claudette Woodard dies at age 64

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Claudette Woodard, a former state representative and Cleveland Heights-University Heights school board president, died Thursday night in Cleveland.
Woodard, 64, was known for her great sense of humor and as someone who cared about people, said Rep. Sandra Williams, a Cleveland Democrat.
“I was a student in criminal justice when she took me under her wings in 2001,” Williams said. “She gave me headway as to what the bigger problems were in urban areas.
