Gas Prices.. What? Almost $4.00.  Remember when $2.00 was high? Well here are some tips to keep $ in your pocket.

  1. Trade-in your gas guzzler for a fuel efficient vehicle.Consider that hybrids may take as long as 10 years to break even. Sure they get great mileage, but their initial cost is so much higher than non-hybrids that it’s not always a great deal. A smaller, newer, non-hybrid may provide great gas mileage at a reduced purchasing price.
  2. Drive less.Consolidate trips by planning ahead. Shaving even a few miles a day off your routine schedule will add up to big savings.
  3. Drive smart.Smooth driving at the speed limit saves a tremendous amount of gas. No “jack-rabbit” starts! Accelerating uses the most amount of fuel, therefore if you want to stretch out your mileage…stretch out your acceleration distance by being smooth and patient.
  4. Find cheap gas.Shop around. We spend thousands on gas a year…doesn’t it make sense to try to find the best deal. Try an online gas price comparison website, such as GasBuddy.com. See link in additional resources section below.
