R&B star Ne-Yo saw what happened in the aftermath of the Earthquake and Tsunami that devastated Japan, however that did not stop him from keeping his tour dates and doing all he could to help relief efforts in the rebuilding country.  Ne-Yo held concerts in the cities of Yokohama, Kobe, and Nagoya all the while holding the belief that the people of Japan needed a release more than ever. Ne-Yo told MTV this:

“After we heard about what went down, a lot of people was like, ‘I know you’re not going out there now,'” Ne-Yo said this week during a MTV Skype interview from Japan. “Our response to that was, ‘Of course we’re still going. They need the shows more than ever now.'”

Ne-Yo also sold T-shirts, wrist bands, and donated a portion of  ticket sales to support relief efforts:

“We’ve raised somewhere close to $100,000,” he said. “All the proceeds of this stuff goes straight to victims of the quake and tsunami, not to mention a percent of the proceeds of shows go to victims of the quake and tsunami. So we are definitely out here making a difference. It’s definitely more than just singing and dancing.”

Ne-Yo is truly a class act and the industry always benefits from positive examples like him.  To read the full article from Billy Johnson Jr of Yahoo.com click here
