We don’t doubt that newlyweds Will and Kate are as solid as the 18-carat rock he slid on her finger eight months ago. But any couple’s bond would be tested by the reported 10-week separation the two will face in a few months when Wills heads off for training, leaving Kate behind in their sleepy little Welsh town that has more sheep than people. “Some separation can be good for a relationship because you get the chance to miss each other, but, no matter how much you’re in love, being solo long term can wear on your union if you don’t do some creative stuff to stay connected,” says psychotherapist Tina Tessina, PhD, author of The Commuter Marriage: Keep Your Relationship Close While You’re Far Apart.
