Shemar Moore covers Maximum Fitness magazine’s July/August 2011 issue. Inside, he talks about cheating death and his commitment and drive to remain strong and lean.
On August 1, 2009, Moore had gone out cycling, which isn’t uncommon for the actor; he’s recently been racing in charity events for multiple sclerosis (a disease his mother suffers from). However, for about three seconds, he took to the skies and was weightless. The incident could have left him paralyzed or dead.
“It was the scariest moment of my life. On that day, I did everything right. What went wrong was that I got hit by a 70-year-old in an old-school Cadillac going 40 miles per hour! I didn’t see him or hear him coming—not a thing. I don’t remember spinning or flipping off my bike—nothing. I got lucky—and then some.”
