The Cleveland Browns opened the 2011 Preseason yesterday with a 27-17 win over the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers.  Browns’ Quarterback Colt McCoy was almost perfect throwing the ball going 9-10 with 135 yards and a touchdown.  McCoy showed a strong command of new Head Coach Pat Shurmur’s new West Coast offense and moved the team down the field twice for touchdown drives.

The Bowns’ second team players entered the game in the 2nd quarter and held the Green Bay backups in check.  The second half was highlighted by a sack/fumble forced by undrafted rookie Linebacker Brian Smith.  The fumble was recovered by Linebacker Titus Brown, who also looked sharp, and returned 43 yards for a touchdown.  Backup QB Seneca Wallace also was solid but was responsible for the Browns’ lone turnover, throwing a interception in the third quarter while in the “Red” zone.

This was a positive start for the Browns’.  Lets hope they can follow it up with another good performance against Detroit on Friday.
