CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

An innocent bystander shot in the head after a during a fight on Cleveland’s west side late Thursday night.

It happened on West 125th Street at 11:20PM.

Police tell 19 Action News the suspect, 30-year-old Jacqueline Martinez, and her sister were involved in a physical altercation with another woman.

During the fight, Martinez produced a gun and fired several times. As she fired, a woman who was not involved in the fight looked out the window of her home and was shot once in the face.

Following the shooting, Martinez barricaded herself inside a home on West 125th. SWAT was called to the scene, but the suspect surrendered before the emergency unit’s arrival.

A handgun was recovered on scene.

The shooting victim was rushed to Metro, no word on her condition at this time.

This investigation is being handled by the First District Detective Bureau.
