CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –
Judgment day for the woman who admitted killing a man and robbing several banks.
Lateshia Scott – whom is a mother of nine children – was sentenced to serve 40-years in prison.
Between August 31st, 2010 and September 1st, 2010, 33-year-old Scott and an unknown suspect bound 66-year-old Robert Moncrief with telephone cords around his ankles, wrists and neck. They covered the victim’s head and face with pillow cases. Scott was later seen using the victim’s car in addition to the victim’s ATM card to clean out his bank account prior to the victim’s body being discovered. The victim’s body was found on September 3rd, 2010, in his apartment located on Superior Avenue in Cleveland.
In a separate case, Scott was indicted for robbing four Cleveland banks – U.S. Bank on West 25th Street, Key Bank on Broadway Avenue, Key Bank on West 25th Street, and Charter One Bank on Euclid Avenue – between September 4th and September 20th, 2010.
On September 20th, 2010, Scott was arrested by the US Marshal’s Service and the FBI Task Force.
On September 9th of this year, Scott pleaded guilty in both cases to one count of aggravated murder, one count of aggravated burglary, and four counts of aggravated robbery.
